Art Book Club Presents: Black Sunday, curated by Saira McLaren. Inspiration and a loose literary handshake for this show were provided in part by a book written by Tom Holert that explores a seminal post-Pop scatter installation from 1972, in “Marc Camille Chaimowicz: Celebration? Real Life”. Using the detritus of his life, Chaimowicz brought his intimate and personal experience into the framework of public performance.

Black Sunday brings together artists who make homage, each in a unique way, to a seemingly insignificant point in time. Interested in time and the presence of the artist, the work becomes intertwined to a  location, its history and the specific memories associated with it.
